Benton vs Story Crib Specs
Storage
The Graco Story includes a full-size under-crib drawer with two separate organizer compartments to help keep your nursery tidy. This built-in storage is a significant practical advantage for organizing diapers, wipes, and small gear. The Graco Benton does not include any integrated storage drawers. You would need to purchase separate bins or a dresser to achieve similar organization levels. If keeping clutter out of sight is a priority, the Story’s built-in drawer offers immediate utility without extra furniture.
Dimensions
The Graco Benton measures 56.73 inches wide, 29.72 inches deep, and 41.68 inches high. The Graco Story is slightly narrower at 54.96 inches wide, with a depth of 29.65 inches and a height of 42.3 inches. The Benton is about 1.77 inches wider, which may provide a marginally larger footprint for the mattress area. The Story is taller by 0.62 inches. Both fit standard crib mattresses. The Benton’s extra width might suit larger nurseries, while the Story’s narrower profile could fit tighter spaces.
Weight
The Graco Benton weighs 42 pounds. The Graco Story weighs 51.7 pounds. The Story is nearly 10 pounds heavier, likely due to the included storage drawer and additional wood composite material. The Benton’s lighter weight may make it slightly easier to move or reposition during assembly or cleaning. The Story’s extra mass could provide a sense of stability, though both are built with durable pine and composites. For most users, the weight difference is manageable, but the Benton is the lighter option.
Color Options
The Graco Benton is available in a wider range of colors, including White, Pebble Gray, Driftwood, Grey, Black, and Hazelnut. The Graco Story is available in Driftwood, Hazelnut, and Pebble Gray. If you prefer a White or Black finish, the Benton is your only choice. The Story offers fewer color variations, limiting your ability to match specific nursery decor themes. Both models share Driftwood, Pebble Gray, and Hazelnut options. The Benton provides greater flexibility for diverse interior design preferences.
Mattress Height
The Graco Story features an adjustable mattress base with four height options. The Graco Benton lists three height positions in its variations data: 41.7 inches, 5.75 inches, and 5.25 inches. The Story’s fourth position allows for more precise adjustments as your child grows. This extra setting can be useful for fine-tuning the mattress level relative to the crib sides. The Benton’s three positions are sufficient for most needs, but the Story offers finer control over the mattress height settings.
